Persistence of understanding the feelings of one billion people
Agriculture is one of the most important pillars of the Indian economy. Its poor condition but great needs have always been compelled us to think its measures for improvement. Understanding this situation, I had advocated forwarding Agriculture as vocational course from class 9.
First of all, in 2016, I sent this analyzed proposal after asking suggestions for new national education policy. After this I proposed the same in the District Review meeting of respected Anil Swarup sir, CEO, State Development Council, Govt. of Jharkhand (Former Secretary, School Education, Govt. of India) at Simdega. They appreciated it and made the note down and ensured us to further action.
I am very happy to see my dreams come true. Surely our society will get a new destination. I understand that it will be expanded in all schools soon. It is a matter of happiness and pride that such initiative is being started from Jharkhand.
The relevance and importance of this thinking (in brief)
Population, Poverty and Unemployment are the key identity of our country. But why is this so? Whereas two things are available here in the form of Major Resources - Manpower and Arable land. Firstly, We know that 70% of our people (approx. 1 billion) are dependent on agriculture. Secondly, Country's arable land area of 159.7million hectares is the second largest in the world, after the United States. Its gross irrigated crop area of 82.6 million hectares is the largest in the world..... But we exported only approx. $40 billion worth of agricultural products. The truth is that It is not possible for any government to employ all the people in service and bussiness sectors. The resources that I have a lot, there is a need for a better action plan. That hand should be better trained (vocational study in agriculture) from the beginning, which can be utilized for better resource utilization for poverty and unemployment control and elimination. The average income of a farmer household is estimated at only Rs 77,976 per year, according to the Dalwai committee report. Many educated people wander in search of a job and ruin their life. The compulsion to settle in cities for employment has created a critical and alarming situation and made ineqality based society. The right thing is that many such major problems (including psychological ) are generating and happening day by day. Even after dropout after 10th class, a majority will get good employment in agriculture. This will reduce the pressure on higher education, so quality education will also improve. Now there is need for Synchronizing agriculture with technology (innovation) and management. So that *justice can be done with 70% of the people.
